Anatomic Pathology is concerned with a diagnosis of disease by examining a biopsy or other specimen removed from the body by a clinical specialist or a surgeon.

Anatomic Pathology services are provided by physicians who have trained and worked at national and international cancer treatment facilities, centers of research and clinical excellence for other human diseases.

 

Sub-specialty expertise is available in: Cytopathology, Dermatology, Genitourinary Pathology (kidney bladder and prostate), Gynecological Pathology and Breast Cancer (including all areas serving the needs of women's health programs), Hematology (leukemias and lymphomas), Infectious Disease, Diseases of Childhood, Liver and G.I. Pathology, Lung Pathology and Neuropathology

The division of Anatomic Pathology includes the technical staff at CLP and physicians at Hartford Pathology Associates (HPA). HPA's doctoral staff includes M.D. Pathologists and Ph.D. Clinical Laboratory Directors who serve several major hospitals in CT and provide consultation to other Pathologists and Laboratory Directors all over New England.
